SUMMARY:Blind Test at Urban Belval
DESCRIPTION:There is always one. The friend who names the track from the first half second\, before the vocals\, before the drums\, off nothing but a synth pad and pure instinct. Blind Test night is the one evening where that particular talent finally pays for itself. \n\n\n\nUrban Belval runs its fourth Blind Test on Tuesday 4 August\, kicking off at 19:00. It is the format you already know and it could not be simpler: songs play\, you scan the QR code on the big screen\, and your table plays along from your phones. No paper\, no pens\, no arguing about whose handwriting nobody can read. Just the sprint to answer first. \n\n\n\nThere are prizes for the tables that get it right\, and Urban being Urban\, there is a full kitchen and a proper bar running alongside\, so you can make an evening of it rather than a quick hour. \n\n\n\nTwo things worth doing before Tuesday. Book a table\, because this one fills up and a Blind Test with nowhere to sit is a sad affair. And gather your team\, ideally a spread of ages\, because someone at the table needs to cover the eighties and someone else needs to cover whatever came out last month. \n\n\n\nIt is a Tuesday\, which is exactly the sort of night Belval could use more of. \n\n\n\nBlind Test #4 🎁 Prizes to be won 📞 Book your table

SUMMARY:Escher Kulturlaf
DESCRIPTION:Some races are built around a stopwatch. The Sudstroum Escher Kulturlaf gives you reasons to look up. \n\n\n\nThe Kulturlaf began in 2007 with a simple idea: connect the emerging Belval district with central Esch through a community race passing the city’s cultural sites. That mix still defines it. Bands and musicians line the routes\, turning the city into part course\, part stage. \n\n\n\nChoose the half marathon\, 10 miles\, 10 km or 5 km. The 5 km can be run individually or in a team of exactly three\, with every team member completing the full distance and the three times combined. Children aged 5 to 12 have their own free\, untimed 1 km SUDenergie Mini-Kulturlaf. \n\n\n\nBelval is the heart of the evening. The start\, finish\, prize-giving and After-Kulturlaf Party all gather around the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants. You do not need a race number to belong to the evening. Come to cheer\, listen to the bands and watch the finishers return against Belval’s industrial skyline. \n\n\n\nRace programme\n\n\n\n• 17:15: SUDenergie Mini-Kulturlaf\, 1 km• 18:00: Half marathon\, 10 miles and 10 km• 18:15: 5 km individual and team races• 20:15: Prize-giving ceremony• 20:30: After-Kulturlaf Party with live music \n\n\n\nRace-number collection and final registration take place at the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants on Friday 4 September from 16:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 5 September from 11:00 to 17:00. \n\n\n\nRegistration for the timed races includes the official Kulturlaf T-shirt\, a race number with an integrated timing chip and a medal at the finish. \n\n\n\nThe remaining 2026 entry-fee periods are: \n\n\n\n• Until 2 August: €26 regular\, €22 student• 3 August to 3 September: €31 regular\, €27 student• 4 and 5 September: €36 regular\, €32 student• Mini-Kulturlaf: free\, but registration is required \n\n\n\nOnline registration closes on 3 September at 23:59. Final registration is available in person during race-number collection. \n\n\n\nThe organisers recommend arriving by train\, bus\, bike or on foot. Parking is available at Belval-Gare\, Belval Plaza I and II\, and the University. Changing rooms and showers are available at Lycée Bel-Val\, with a shuttle from the finish area. \n\n\n\nAccessibility note: the organisers state that the routes are not barrier-free and are not suitable for wheelchair users. Dogs and pushchairs are permitted\, provided runners take care around other participants.

SUMMARY:Welcome Week - University of Luxembourg
DESCRIPTION:Starting university rarely begins with a single big moment. It begins with finding the right entrance\, recognising a face from breakfast\, learning where to ask for help and slowly turning a campus map into somewhere familiar. \n\n\n\nWelcome Week is the University of Luxembourg’s introduction to campus life for new students. From 8 to 10 September\, Belval Campus hosts breakfasts\, workshops\, talks and activities designed to make those first days more useful\, welcoming and a little less daunting. \n\n\n\nThe 2026 programme combines practical orientation with some of the bigger questions facing students today. Sessions cover university services\, studying in the age of AI\, sustainability\, IT support and the Luxembourg Learning Centre. Outdoor sport and interactive workshops create opportunities to meet people beyond the lecture room. \n\n\n\nWelcome Week is followed on Friday 11 September by Welcome Day\, bringing the new student community together for the Rector’s welcome\, music\, food and campus activities. \n\n\n\nParticipation is intended for new University of Luxembourg students. Check the official programme and practical information before attending\, as access or registration arrangements may vary between sessions.

SUMMARY:Welcome Day - University of Luxembourg
DESCRIPTION:By Friday\, Belval should feel a little less like a collection of building names and more like a campus you can call your own. \n\n\n\nWelcome Day is the celebratory conclusion to the University of Luxembourg’s Welcome Week. On 11 September\, new students come together on Belval Campus for the Rector’s welcome\, activities\, music\, food and the conversations that often become the first real memories of university life. \n\n\n\nThe day complements the workshops and orientation sessions held earlier in the week. It is less about absorbing another list of instructions and more about meeting the people\, services and communities that give the University its character. \n\n\n\nWelcome Day runs from 08:00 to 15:00 and is intended for new University of Luxembourg students. Check the official programme before attending for the latest schedule and practical arrangements.

SUMMARY:The Pussycat Dolls at Rockhal
DESCRIPTION:Some pop songs can send an entire room back in time from the first beat. \n\n\n\nOn 13 September\, The Pussycat Dolls bring the PCD Forever Tour to Rockhal\, celebrating the debut album that placed them at the centre of 2000s pop. Nicole Scherzinger\, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts return with a catalogue that includes “Don’t Cha”\, “Buttons” and “Stickwitu”. \n\n\n\nLil’ Kim joins them as special guest\, with Deja Vu also on the bill. It is a line-up shaped by the pop and hip-hop sound of the 2000s\, now landing in the heart of Belval. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 18:30\, with the concert listed for 20:00. Tickets currently start at €109.15\, subject to availability. Check the official Rockhal page before travelling for the latest running order and ticket information. \n\n\n\nBelval-Université station is approximately two minutes from Rockhal on foot\, and public transport in Luxembourg is free. If dinner is part of the plan\, arrive early: restaurants around Belval can become busy before major concerts. \n\n\n\nRockhal is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility and wheelchair users. Some services and dedicated viewing areas must be reserved in advance\, preferably at least 14 days before the event.

SUMMARY:Uni.lu Hoodie Day - University of Luxembourg
DESCRIPTION:On 28 September\, the easiest way to recognise the University of Luxembourg community may be a hoodie. \n\n\n\nThe first uni.lu Hoodie Day invites students\, staff\, researchers and alumni to wear their University hoodie wherever they are in the world. Belval may be the home base for many\, but the community built here stretches far beyond the campus. \n\n\n\nThere is no journey to plan and no auditorium to find. Put on the hoodie\, reconnect with the memories and people attached to it\, and join a simple worldwide sign of belonging. \n\n\n\nThe event takes place throughout Monday 28 September 2026. Further participation details are expected from the University\, so check the official Hoodie Day page for updates.

SUMMARY:Opening of the Academic Year - University of Luxembourg
DESCRIPTION:A new academic year begins with more than a ceremony. \n\n\n\nOn 7 October\, the Grand Auditoire at the Maison du Savoir will bring together the University community and guests from academia\, business and government. \n\n\n\nRector Professor Jens Kreisel will open the event\, followed by a series of six-minute talks from University of Luxembourg researchers. The format is deliberately concise: a chance to discover several areas of research in one afternoon and hear directly from the people working on them. \n\n\n\nStéphanie Obertin\, Luxembourg’s Minister for Research and Higher Education\, will deliver the closing remarks before the evening continues with a networking cocktail. \n\n\n\nThe setting matters. Belval’s Grand Auditoire sits within a neighbourhood whose identity continues to be written by the people who study\, research and work here. This is one of the occasions when those different communities meet in the same room. \n\n\n\nThe event runs from 16:00 to 20:00. Advance registration is available through the official University of Luxembourg event page. \n\n\n\nPlease note that the organiser will take photographs and record video during the event. The registration conditions include authorisation for the University to use this material in communications relating to the event.

SUMMARY:Bob Dylan at Rockhal
DESCRIPTION:Bob Dylan is not coming to Belval to place his past behind glass. \n\n\n\nOn 30 October\, the songwriter returns to Rockhal two years after his previous appearance at the venue. The concert forms part of his 2026 EU/UK tour. \n\n\n\nDylan’s catalogue has moved through folk\, rock\, gospel\, blues and more. On stage\, however\, the songs are not treated as fixed objects. He regularly reshapes their arrangements\, rhythms and phrasing\, allowing familiar work to take on a different character from one concert to the next. \n\n\n\nHis place in cultural history needs little decoration. In 2016\, he received the Nobel Prize in Literature\, recognising his contribution to poetic expression within the American song tradition. What matters in Belval\, however\, is not the ceremony surrounding the name. It is the chance to hear how more than six decades of songwriting sound in the room today. \n\n\n\nBelval is a place where old structures keep finding new uses. There is something fitting about hearing Dylan do much the same with his songs here. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 19:00. The performance is scheduled from 20:00 to 23:30 in the Rockhal Main Hall. Current tickets range from €109 to €145\, including the presale fee. Prices and availability may change. \n\n\n\nRockhal is a short walk from Belval-Université station\, and public transport is free throughout Luxembourg.
