Esch’s Nuit de la Culture comes to Belval this year, and the whole district becomes the venue for one evening. Spectacles, installations and performances appear in places you would not expect them, made with local residents and artists alongside guests from further afield. The 2026 theme is OVNI — osez vivre de nouveaux imaginaires, which is roughly an invitation to let yourself be taken somewhere strange.
It is free, it starts at 18:00, and there is no published finishing time, which for something called a Nuit is probably the point. There are bars and food stalls across the site. The programme runs to around twenty pieces across installation, digital and visual art, immersive work, theatre and live music, with Superpoze, Ray Lee, Cie Poum Tchac and a LIST collaboration called When Science Meets Art among them.
Getting there is the easy part: the train to Esch/Belval is free, the Vel’OK bikes are an option, and the organisers steer drivers towards the covered car parks in the town centre rather than the campus. The address they give as the starting point is 3 Avenue du Rock’n’Roll.
