Opening of the Academic Year – University of Luxembourg

A new academic year begins with more than a ceremony.

On 7 October, the Grand Auditoire at the Maison du Savoir will bring together the University community and guests from academia, business and government.

Rector Professor Jens Kreisel will open the event, followed by a series of six-minute talks from University of Luxembourg researchers. The format is deliberately concise: a chance to discover several areas of research in one afternoon and hear directly from the people working on them.

Stéphanie Obertin, Luxembourg’s Minister for Research and Higher Education, will deliver the closing remarks before the evening continues with a networking cocktail.

The setting matters. Belval’s Grand Auditoire sits within a neighbourhood whose identity continues to be written by the people who study, research and work here. This is one of the occasions when those different communities meet in the same room.

The event runs from 16:00 to 20:00. Advance registration is available through the official University of Luxembourg event page.
