A half-day hackathon where artificial intelligence meets cultural heritage, in the DH Lab of the Maison des Sciences Humaines on Monday 2 November, 12:00 to 16:00. Researchers, developers, students and heritage professionals pick one of five challenges: recognising text in scanned multilingual manuscripts, analysing images of artefacts, reconstructing cultural sites in 3D, building virtual reality tours of them, or digitally restoring damaged objects.

Bring a laptop; lunch and coffee are provided. Places are limited and go first come, first served, so register by email before 28 October, using the address on the university’s page. The hackathon is part of AISTER, a European Erasmus+ project on using artificial intelligence and citizen participation to safeguard Ukrainian cultural heritage.
