University Restaurants

A campus-wide network of Restopolis counters keeps students and staff supplied with hot meals, vegetarian choices, snacks and coffee.

Belval’s university food offer works as a network of dining rooms and counters. Restopolis outlets across buildings such as Maison du Savoir, Maison des Sciences Humaines, Terres Rouges and Maison de l’Innovation cover different needs, from hot lunches and vegetarian plates to salads, snacks, drinks and takeaway.

Names including Food House, Food Café, Food Lab, Food Hub, Food Lounge and Food Zone help locate the right format, but openings shift with the academic calendar and holidays. Check the live university or Restopolis information before walking to a particular counter. Together, these Places perform an unglamorous campus miracle: turning the gap between two classes into enough time for lunch.

The seven counters, and when they open

Seven Restopolis counters serve the campus, and their hours sit further apart than anyone expects: three run from 07:00 to 18:00, while the two that close earliest shut at 14:30.

Counter Where Open Hot food
Food Factory ENAD 07:00 – 18:00 No
Food Café Maison du Savoir, first floor 07:00 – 16:30 No
Food Lounge Terres Rouges, ground floor 07:00 – 18:00 No
Food Lab Maison des Sciences Humaines 07:30 – 16:30 11:00 – 16:00
Food Hub Terres Rouges, second floor 07:00 – 18:00 11:30 – 14:00
Food Zone Maison de l’Innovation, ground floor 07:30 – 14:30 11:30 – 14:00
Food House Restaurant de l’Université 11:00 – 14:30 11:00 – 14:00

All seven run Monday to Friday and close on Luxembourg public holidays. The Open column is when you can get in and buy something; Hot food is given where the kitchen serves on a narrower window than the counter keeps. A dash means the two are the same. At Food Zone and Food House, the last fifteen minutes before closing, 14:15 to 14:30, are an anti-gaspi window: what is left from the service can be taken rather than thrown away. Everything here shifts with the academic calendar, so check before a long walk across campus.

What it costs depends on who you are

The counters run separate rates for learners, for adults working in the university or another education institution, and for visitors. The prices in the offers above are the learner rate, which is what most people reading this will pay. Anyone outside those two groups pays the visitor rate, so a friend coming to campus for lunch will not pay what you pay.

  Learners Adults Visitors

Lunch menu 2 4.70 € 7.70 € 16.50 €
Lunch menu 3 3.70 € 6.70 € 14.00 €
