The Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) hands out its annual research prizes on Thursday 22 October at the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants, the eighteenth edition of the FNR Awards. Four categories: outstanding PhD thesis, outstanding scientific achievement, outstanding mentor, and outstanding promotion of science to the public. The evening is hosted by Lisa Burke and the FNR’s Michèle Weber.

It opens at 18:30 with the welcome and two short conversations, one with the FNR’s secretary general and one with the Minister for Higher Education and Research. The awards themselves run from about 18:50 to 20:05, followed by closing remarks and a cocktail reception until 22:00. The FNR calls the programme provisional, so the times may shift a little.

Registration is on the FNR’s page, where you also say whether you are staying for the cocktail. No price is published. The event room is on the ground floor and accessible to people with reduced mobility, and the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants is a five-minute walk from Belval-Université station.
