I love Belval
The Sixt car hire branch on boulevard du Jazz in Belval, with the orange Sixt frontage and a key return box beside the door.
Getting Around

Sixt

Car hire on boulevard du Jazz, counter open weekdays, keys collectable and returnable around the clock. The answer for the weekend the free transport network cannot cover.

Sixt runs its Esch branch from boulevard du Jazz, in the Belval Business Center building. The usual range, from small cars up to vans and the occasional thing with too much power, plus long-term hire and the standard menu of extra drivers and protection packages.

The practical detail is the key box. The counter is a weekday operation, nine until half past five, but keys can be collected and dropped at any hour, which is what makes a Friday evening pickup and a Sunday night return workable.

Public parking is on boulevard du Jazz itself. The Square Mile car park is no longer used for Sixt vehicles, which is worth knowing if you have hired here before and are relying on memory.

Why it matters here: public transport in Luxembourg is free and Belval is well connected, so most of the time you do not need a car at all. This is for the exceptions, which is precisely why it belongs in the category rather than despite it.

Best for
Weekend trips the train cannot do · Moving furniture · Airport runs at awkward hours · Anyone who has just arrived and has not bought a car yet
Local tip: The counter is weekdays only, but the key box on the door works around the clock, so a Friday evening collection and a Sunday return are both possible if you book ahead. Park on boulevard du Jazz itself. The Square Mile car park no longer takes Sixt cars.
