Why do we make bad decisions? is a one-evening course in French at the Université Populaire in Belval, on Tuesday 17 November from 18:00 to 19:40. It is an accessible introduction to the psychology of decision-making, and no background is needed.

Why do we make choices we later regret, and why do smart people misjudge things, especially under pressure? Drawing on cognitive psychology, the session looks at what shapes everyday choices: emotions, cognitive biases, mental shortcuts, overload, habits of thought and context. The aim is to understand how your mind works so you can spot the traps more easily.

The original French title is Pourquoi prenons-nous de mauvaises décisions ? The session costs €9. Register on the Université Populaire’s website.
