Belval-Université is more than the place where the train stops. It is the hinge between campus, concerts, shopping and the wider south of Luxembourg. Step off and the Rockhal, Belval Plaza and the university are all within an easy walk; buses, taxis, cycle facilities and Park and Ride connections gather around the same point.
Second-class public transport is free for journeys within Luxembourg, although first class and the foreign part of cross-border trips still require the correct ticket. The station opened in 2009, just as the new district was taking shape. That timing matters. Belval could grow because people could reach it, and every busy platform still tells that story.
