Belval’s biggest stories tend to rise above you: blast furnaces, towers and the Maison du Savoir. Parc um Belval works closer to the ground. It is where people walk the dog, children take over the playground and flying discs occasionally cross the path ahead.
The park is much more than a decorative strip of green. Its inclusive playground, Teqball table and nine-hole disc golf course give different generations reasons to use the space rather than simply pass through it. The disc golf course is free, although players need to bring their own discs.
The park also brings back a chapter of Belval’s history that steel almost eclipsed. At the beginning of the twentieth century, mineral water from the Source Bel-Val was bottled and exported far beyond Luxembourg. The Source Bel-Val pavilion, inaugurated in 2023, reconnects the park with that story through architecture and an installation created for both recreation and discovery.
Pavillon Belval adds coffee, ice cream, informal food and evening drinks to the setting. Together, the park and café make this an easy place for a family afternoon, a quiet pause or an unhurried meeting with friends.
Parc um Belval shows another side of the neighbourhood: open, playful and connected to a history that began long before the first blast furnace.
