Why do we dream? is a one-evening course in French at the Université Populaire in Belval, on Tuesday 1 December from 18:00 to 19:40. It is an accessible introduction to the psychology and neuroscience of dreaming.

The session covers the main scientific theories about sleep and dreams, the phases of sleep, how memory works and what dreams may be for, based on current knowledge. It also looks at the major historical approaches to dream interpretation, including those of Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung.

The original French title is Pourquoi rêvons-nous ? The session costs €9. Register on the Université Populaire’s website. The Université Populaire also runs a version in Luxembourgish, Warum träumen wir?, on Friday 27 November.
