Fred’s brings Belgian waffles and ice cream to the centre of Belval Plaza. The offer is cheerful and direct: waffles served simply or dressed with toppings, plus ice cream made in the shop. The wider Fred’s story began with a small Belgian-coast business in 1989, but the Belval branch does not need borrowed nostalgia to work.

It is a bright stop in the middle of shopping, especially when somebody in the group has earned dessert before lunch. Flavours and specials move with the season, so the counter is the only menu that matters. Some Places tell the history of the steelworks. This one improves an afternoon.
