CyberDay.lu is Luxembourg’s annual cybersecurity awareness conference, and the ninth edition comes to the Skip Pavilion in Belval on Thursday 15 October, from 09:00 to 12:40. Fondation Restena runs it under the Cybersecurity Luxembourg umbrella as part of European Cyber Security Month, and it is pitched at the whole research and education world, beyond security specialists.
The programme is now out. Rémy Bertot of Passbolt gives the keynote, and the morning runs through LU-CIX, CIRCL and Proximus NXT, with Steve Muller of BEE SECURE on open source intelligence for beginners and Michael Hamm of CIRCL on what turns up in a stretch of the internet where nothing is meant to be listening. New this year is a Young Talents session at 12:10, and one of the three speaking is Laura Bernardy of the University of Luxembourg, on the slang cybercriminals use to hide what they mean. An exhibition area runs alongside, with BEE SECURE and the European Business Institute of Luxembourg.
It is free, but registration is compulsory, and the form is now open on cyberday.lu. You need to be 18 or over to register. The desk opens at 08:30, half an hour before the first talk, and a certificate of attendance can be requested within thirty days. The Skip sits on the blast furnace terrace, a few minutes on foot from Belval-Université station.
