La Cité des Sciences is a free exhibition on the ground floor of the Maison de l’Innovation, telling how the Belval brownfield was turned into the science quarter that now stands on it. Models, plans and photographs trace the site from working steelworks to campus.
Entry is free and the door is open seven days a week except Tuesday, 10:00 to 19:00 until 31 October, then 10:00 to 16:00 from 1 November to 31 March. It stays open on public holidays, and closes from 24 December to 1 January.
Guided tours are by appointment, through Fonds Belval at visite@fonds-belval.lu. The same office runs the blast furnace climb from the Möllerei entrance, and the two go together well on one visit.
The building is shared with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, Luxinnovation and the Food Zone counter, so the exhibition sits inside the thing it describes.
