8 October · 12:00 – 14:00
A cello and an accordion is an unlikely pairing, which is rather the point of Duo Kiasma. Pierre Fontenelle and Frin Wolter play across European stages and tour Asia, and they come to the Luxembourg Learning Centre to play and to talk about what that career has taught them: how music travels, and how a performance becomes an exchange between cultures rather than a transaction.
The framing is cultural soft power, and it is a discussion as much as a concert. Maxime Bender, director of the Trifolion in Echternach, joins as guest to mark the release of the duo’s album Polaris on 11 October. Prof. Dr Sonja Kmec, adjunct professor of history at the university, moderates.
Salle Ellipse, 12:00 to 14:00, which makes it a lunchtime rather than an evening. Free, but registration is required through the link on the university’s page. Anyone can come: it is a public event on the campus rather than a staff one.
