The Luxembourg Learning Centre may be the clearest expression of Belval’s second life. It occupies part of the Möllerei, the immense structure that once stored ore and coke for the neighbouring furnaces. Inside that industrial shell, the university created a luminous library of quiet desks, group spaces, long shelves and unexpected views through the old structure.
The contrast is not a design trick. It is the neighbourhood’s history made tangible: material once waited here to become steel; now people come to turn information into knowledge. The library welcomes the wider public as well as the university community. Even if you are not studying, step inside respectfully and give yourself time to look up.
