Fully booked: this 24 October workshop showed no places left on 11 October. The Université Populaire runs a French-language version on Saturday 16 January, with places still open when we checked.

Inès Fortemps de Loneux, master distiller at Entre Nous Gin, runs a gin workshop at the Université Populaire in Belval on Saturday 24 October, from 14:30 to 17:50. It is taught in English and open to complete beginners.

It starts with the history of distillation and the botanicals behind gin. Then, in groups of two or three, you pick your own blend of berries, herbs and spices and run it through small copper stills, with a tasting and a cocktail while it distils. At the end you bottle 500 ml of your own gin and design its label.

The course costs €18, plus €50 in cash on the day for materials. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Book on the Université Populaire’s website.
