Halle des poches à fonte

Start your blast-furnace visit in the hall that once handled ladles of molten iron and now helps visitors understand the site.

Before climbing the blast furnace, step through the building that explains where you are. The Halle des poches à fonte once belonged to the working steel plant, handling the great ladles used around molten iron.

Today it is the Fonds Belval visitor point. The change of purpose is pure Belval: old ironwork remains visible, while glass and a public welcome have replaced the heat and noise of production. It is a useful first stop for maps, practical guidance and the story behind the Cité des Sciences. Arriving without a plan is no problem. Start here, ask a question, then let the site unfold on foot.

Visited & verified by I Love BelvalI have been here myself, rather than read about it.

Thank you. That is exactly how this stays right: I will check it and update the page.

That did not send. Try again in a moment, or use the contact page.

Something changed here?

Hours, an address, a closure: if this page is out of date, tell me and I will go and check. It goes to me, not onto the site.
