Five musicians from different scenes, one shared love of Coldplay, and a rule they put in their own words: “The song is always in the foreground, not the egos.”
Sky Full of Stars, a Coldplay tribute, plays the Rockhal Club on Friday 13 November. Doors at 20:00, show at 20:30.
A five-piece working through about two hours of the catalogue, fronted by a singer who performs as Sly. Tribute shows live or die on whether the band can carry the big choruses without a stadium to help, and the Club gives them nowhere to hide.
Standing, in the Club. Promoted by Kultopolis, so the ticket link runs through their listing.
Who are Sky Full of Stars?
Sky Full of Stars is a tribute show to the music of Coldplay. The five musicians come from different genres, all with plenty of live experience and a shared love of Coldplay’s sound. Tobias “Sly” Weber sings and plays guitar, with Stefan Turnsek on keyboards, Michael “Micky” Karpen on guitar, Harald “Harry” Müller on bass and Steffen “Steff” Wellmann on drums. The name comes from Coldplay’s 2014 song.
They play Coldplay’s best-known songs for more than two hours, aiming for the band’s live sound while keeping their own musical identity. As they put it: “The song is always in the foreground, not the egos.”
