Deathlane and Sharpshooter at Rockhal

Neither band on this home-grown night is three years old. Deathlane formed in December 2023 and have built a local following fast, and Sharpshooter are five friends who started a crossover thrash band earlier that same year.

Rocklab puts Deathlane and Sharpshooter on the Rockhal Floor on Thursday 19 November. Doors at 20:00.

Both bands are Luxembourgish and both are young: Deathlane formed at the end of 2023 and play deathcore, Sharpshooter came together a few months earlier and play crossover thrash, fast and built on groove. Between them they cover most of what the local heavy scene is currently doing.

Another filmed Rocklab Live Session. These sessions are often how bands from here get their first proper live footage, which is worth remembering when you see the video later.

Who are Deathlane and Sharpshooter?

Two young Luxembourg metal bands share this home-grown night.

Deathlane are a deathcore band formed in December 2023. Despite their youth they have built a following fast in the local scene, with heavy riffs, breakdowns and guttural vocals. Rockhal lists The Acacia Strain and The Last Ten Seconds of Life among their reference points.

Sharpshooter are a crossover thrash band started in early 2023 by five friends: Rick Casais on vocals, David Masion and Philippe Mentz on guitars, Jimmy Maltez on bass and Hugo Nogueira on drums. Their music is fast and aggressive with plenty of groove and melody, in the spirit of Power Trip, Biohazard, Hatebreed and Exodus, and they have already played several local metal festivals.

A Rocklab Live Session

The night is a Rocklab Live Session, a filmed showcase run by Rockhal’s Rocklab for local artists of every genre, age and level of experience. A selection of songs from the evening will later be released digitally, so the crowd will be part of the recording.
