Pierre de Maere started making songs on an iPod with GarageBand, with no training, and worked as a fashion photographer before they took off. “Un jour je marierai un ange” reached the top 10 in both Wallonia and France.
Pierre de Maere plays the Rockhal Club on Thursday 21 January 2027. Doors at 20:00.
The Belgian singer was named male revelation at the 2023 Victoires de la Musique and his first album went platinum, which is a fast start by any measure. He writes pop with a theatrical streak and performs it the same way.
Standing, in the Club. Rooms this size tend not to stay available to artists on this trajectory for long.
Who is Pierre de Maere?
Pierre de Maere is a Belgian pop singer-songwriter, born in Uccle in 2001, who moved to Walhain in Walloon Brabant with his family at the age of ten. He started out making music on an iPod with GarageBand, with no formal training, and worked as a fashion photographer before his songs took off. His first attempts were in English, then he switched to French.
His breakthrough came with “Un jour je marierai un ange”, which spread on radio and TikTok and reached the top 10 in both Wallonia and France. He sings in a high, playful voice and cites Stromae and Lady Gaga as references. As he told Numéro: “Making music for ten people was never my goal.”

- Un jour, je (2022): his first short record, home to his breakthrough single, certified diamond in France.
- Regarde-moi (2023): his first album, number one in Wallonia and certified platinum in France.
- Ave de Maere (2026): his second album, out on 25 September 2026, built on true stories about his “somewhat late firsts”, and another number one in Wallonia.
