In November 2022, a song in three languages called “Very Few Friends” took off on TikTok and Spotify. Its writer, Saint Levant, born in Jerusalem in 2000, went from basement shows to Coachella in under two years.
Saint Levant brings the AFANDI World Tour to the Rockhal Club on Wednesday 11 November. Doors at 20:00.
He moves between Arabic, French and English across a single song, over production that sits closer to R&B than to rap. That trilingual writing is what carried him from streaming numbers to sold-out rooms in about two years.
General admission has sold out. Rockhal still lists a limited number of VIP tickets, so check the official page before assuming the night is closed. Standing, in the Club.
Who is Saint Levant?
Saint Levant is the stage name of Marwan Abdelhamid, a Palestinian singer and songwriter born in Jerusalem in 2000. He sings in Arabic, French and English, and his music blends Arabic pop, R&B and hip-hop with North African colours such as Algerian chaâbi and raï. He also plays guitar, saxophone and piano.
Many people found him through “Very Few Friends”, a song in three languages released in November 2022 that took off on TikTok and Spotify. Since then he has gone from small basement shows to concerts for 3,000 people in New York, and he played Coachella in 2024. Asked about his sound, he told NPR: “I’m curious, eclectic even.”
His records
- Deira (2024): his debut album, eight tracks released on 7 June 2024, with Kehlani, Cheb Bilal and MC Abdul as guests. The title track draws on the Algerian chaâbi of Dahmane El Harrachi.
- Love Letters (2025): a short record that includes “Kalamantina”.
- Afandi (2026): twelve tracks released on 21 August 2026, his first album sung entirely in Arabic, with Haifa Wehbe on “Mitsubishi” and Mohammed Assaf on “Maskara”, produced with his longtime collaborator Ratchopper.
Songs to know before the night: “Very Few Friends”, “Deira”, “5am in Paris”, “Allah Yihmeeki”, “Kalamantina”, “Sabah El Ward”, “Mitsubishi” and “Maskara”.
The AFANDI World Tour
Afandi looks back to the golden age of Arabic pop: Levantine dabke, Lebanese pop from the turn of the century and raï. Saint Levant described it to Rolling Stone Middle East as a “conversation between the present and the past”.
On stage the show is called Layali Al Afandi: the room turns into a 1990s Levantine cabaret, with live musicians, storytelling and set design that recall Beirut nightlife. The tour crosses the Middle East, North America and Europe, and ends in Dubai on 19 December.
