Sébastien Tellier plays the Rockhal Club on Thursday 3 December, on tour with his seventh album, Kiss The Beast. Doors open at 20:00 and the show starts at 20:30.
Over six albums the French multi-instrumentalist has built a world of his own somewhere between pop, folk and electronic music, with songs that became cult favourites: “La Ritournelle”, “Divine”, “L’Amour et la Violence” and “Roche”. Kiss The Beast follows Domesticated (2020), several film soundtracks and two EPs, and looks back over the different sides of his career while trying out new sounds.
The Club is standing only. Tickets are €46.20, booking fee included. Tickets are on the Rockhal website.
Who is Sébastien Tellier?
Born in 1975 in Le Plessis-Bouchard, Sébastien Tellier is a French singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music sits where pop, folk and electronic music meet. His first album, L’incroyable Vérité, came out in 2001 on Record Makers, the label that stayed his home for almost twenty years.
Many people first met him through “La Ritournelle”, from Politics (2004), which the Rockhal calls a cult song. In 2008 he represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade with “Divine”, sung in English and French, and finished 19th. Away from his own records he has scored films such as Narco and Steak, the latter with Mr. Oizo and SebastiAn, and he wrote every song on Dita Von Teese’s 2018 album.

Kiss the Beast on stage
This tour follows Kiss the Beast, his first album in five years, with guests Nile Rodgers, Kid Cudi and Slayyyter. Tellier has described it as a reflection of his inner “dualities”, such as strength and fragility, dream and nightmare, and wanted it to feel monumental. It reached number 42 in France. The Rockhal page calls it an ambitious, eclectic work that looks back over his career while opening new doors.
