Océane Colom danced classical ballet as a child in Avignon and waited tables before music took over. As Suzane she writes about the doubts of her generation, feminism and climate change, over electronic beats.
Suzane plays the Rockhal Box on Friday 15 January 2027. Doors at 19:00.
She writes in the first person about other people’s lives, delivers it closer to spoken word than to singing, and performs it alone over electronic production with a physicality that makes the stage look crowded. The Millénium show is built around that.
The Box is the smallest of the Rockhal’s rooms, which for this kind of performance is the best possible version of it. Standing. Easy Lover is in the Club the same evening.
Who is Suzane?
Suzane is the stage name of Océane Colom, who grew up in Avignon. She took up classical dance as a child and studied singing from the age of eight, then worked as a waitress before music took over. Her first singles, “L’Insatisfait” and “La Flemme”, came out in 2018.
Her sound mixes electronic beats with French pop and a powerful voice. Her songs talk about the doubts of her generation, feminism and climate change, and she writes close to life: “I rarely write about characters I don’t feel connected to,” she told Paris Match. In 2019 she opened for Aya Nakamura at Fnac Live, and the Rockhal counts more than 450 concerts to her name.
