The Luxembourg Song Contest fills the Rockhal Main Hall on Saturday 30 January 2027. Doors at 18:00, live at 20:00.
This is the night Luxembourg picks who goes to Eurovision, organised and coordinated by RTL. The country returned to the contest in 2024 after more than thirty years away, and the national final has become the biggest televised music event in the calendar here.
It goes out live, which means the room is part of the broadcast and the timings are not flexible. Tickets are listed as on sale soon, so the official page is the one to watch.
What is the Luxembourg Song Contest?
The Luxembourg Song Contest is the national final that chooses who will represent the Grand Duchy at the Eurovision Song Contest. It is organised by RTL Luxembourg, and the winner of this live final goes on to Eurovision 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria.
Luxembourg has a long Eurovision story. The country took part in the very first contest in 1956 and won it five times, then stayed away from 1994 onwards. RTL brought it back in 2024, its first entry in 31 years, and launched the Luxembourg Song Contest for the occasion. The first final took place at the Rockhal on 27 January 2024.
The winners so far
- 2024: Tali with “Fighter”, 13th in the Eurovision final.
- 2025: Laura Thorn with “La poupée monte le son”, 22nd in the final.
- 2026: Eva Marija with “Mother Nature”.
How the 2027 finalists were chosen
Artists could apply if they hold Luxembourgish nationality, have lived in the Grand Duchy for three consecutive years, or have a strong link with the Luxembourg music scene. Singers auditioned in October before an international jury of Eurovision experts. Songwriters from Luxembourg and abroad sent in original songs of up to three minutes, in any language, and a pairing workshop then matched songs with artists.
The government is funding the national selection for three years, so Luxembourg’s place at Eurovision is secured until at least 2029.
