Lamb of God came out of Richmond, Virginia and spent twenty-five years turning groove metal into something both punishing and precise. Five Grammy nominations and more than two million albums sold later, they still carry the punk ethos of the underground scene that raised them, which is a large part of why their live reputation has never slipped.
This is a Temple of Metal night in the Club, the smaller of the two Rockhal rooms, which is a notably tight space for a band that usually fills arenas. They come with a tenth album behind them, made again with longtime producer Josh Wilbur and drawing on every era of their career, from the blunt force of “Blunt Force Blues” to the more atmospheric “El Vacio”.
The Rockhal sits beside Belval-Université station, so the train drops you at the door and the last ones back run late. Tickets go on sale on Friday 18 September at 10:00, and Club shows for bands of this size have a habit of not lasting long.
