The Möllerei once held the raw materials that kept Belval’s blast furnaces alive. Built in 1910 and substantially transformed in the steelworks era, the great hall stored ore and coke before they continued towards the furnace. Today the route has changed but the building still leads somewhere important.
It is the starting point for the blast-furnace visit, with interpretation that follows the old production journey, and part of its industrial shell now contains the Luxembourg Learning Centre. That pairing says almost everything about modern Belval: a building made for heavy industry, carefully kept, then filled with books, students and public curiosity. Look at the scale before looking at the details. It was designed to hold a mountain.
