Morgan Jay at Rockhal

Morgan Jay started at open mics in New York in 2007, while still studying theatre, and after six years of straight stand-up he brought in a guitar and an Auto-Tuned microphone. Most people found him through short videos.

Morgan Jay brings the La Dolce Vita Tour to the Rockhal Main Hall on Saturday 10 April 2027. Doors at 19:00.

The American comedian works with a guitar and a lot of improvisation, building songs out of whatever the room gives him. It means no two nights are the same, and the front rows become part of the show.

Who is Morgan Jay?

Morgan Jay is an American comedian and musician who mixes stand-up with songs, a guitar and an Auto-Tuned microphone. Born in New Jersey in 1987, with Brazilian and Italian roots, he studied theatre at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and started doing open mics in New York City in 2007, while still at college. He began as a traditional stand-up and brought music into his act after about six years.

Most people found him through short videos. During the pandemic he posted crowd-work clips from his shows, in which audience members sing with him through the Auto-Tuned microphone, and they spread fast on TikTok and Instagram. One clip, “Just Friends?”, passed 129 million views, and in June 2025 Billboard named him among its top 15 musical comedians. “Nobody respects musical comedy until somebody does it really well,” he said in one interview.

On screen he has appeared in MTV’s Wild ‘N Out, Girls5eva, Night Court and St. Denis Medical, and in the film Cotton Candy Bubble Gum, which premiered at South by Southwest.

The La Dolce Vita tour

Belval is one of the spring 2027 stops of La Dolce Vita, the live show he brings to Germany, Vienna, Graz, Zurich and Luxembourg. In April 2027 the run also takes in Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Cologne, where extra shows were added at the Stadthalle.

The show blends stand-up, songs, improvisation and chats with the audience about dating, relationships, culture and modern life. In interviews he has described the shape of his live set: crowd work first, then written songs with stand-up in between.
