For about twenty years, Dallas Toler-Wade was one of the guitars and voices of Nile, the American band known for technical death metal built on ancient Egyptian history and myth. On Wednesday 2 December he brings his own band, Narcotic Wasteland, to MK Bar in Belval, with a special guest still to be announced.
Who are Narcotic Wasteland?
Toler-Wade started Narcotic Wasteland in 2014 while he was still in Nile, and it became his full-time band after he left Nile at the end of 2016. The music mixes death, thrash and black metal. The band has released two albums, Narcotic Wasteland (2014) and Delirium Tremens (2017).
Which Nile songs will he play?
MK Bar says that, alongside Narcotic Wasteland’s own songs, Toler-Wade will play two songs he wrote for Nile’s 2005 album Annihilation of the Wicked: Lashed to the Slave Stick and The Burning Pits of the Duat. The bar bills it as a rare chance to hear them played by their original voice and composer.
