The Skip Pavilion is a building with a wonderfully appropriate travel story. Its name comes from the skip carts that carried ore up the inclined side of a blast furnace. The pavilion itself was prefabricated around a timber frame, first installed near the Raemerich roundabout, then moved to the Blast Furnace Terrace.
Today the long yellow hall and its rippling roof host conferences, exhibitions and workshops. It is playful enough to catch the eye, practical enough to keep changing roles and rooted in industrial language without pretending to be an old factory. Belval is full of structures that found a second life. The Skip went one better and found a second address too.
