Rockhal gave Belval a pulse before the university campus arrived. Open since 2005, Luxembourg’s national centre for amplified music is not one room but several: a Main Hall for the largest touring shows, a Club for closer encounters, smaller spaces and an outdoor format when the programme moves into the open air. Music remains the centre of gravity, but comedy, family events and other live formats also appear on the bill.

Rocklab works alongside the venue to support artists and music-making beyond the stage. Always check the room named on your ticket because each produces a different kind of night. Then take the train home with the furnaces still lit behind you. Few venues offer a better final image.
