Ramen on avenue du Swing has closed for good

A few of you have asked me what happened to Ramen on avenue du Swing. The answer is on the restaurant’s own website, and it is final: the Belval restaurant closed for good on 20 September.

“Nous vous informons que notre restaurant Ramen Malatang à Belval fermera définitivement ses portes à partir du 20 septembre 2026.” That is how the notice begins. It thanks customers for their loyalty “tout au long de cette aventure”, and points them to the restaurant they still run in Ville Haute.

In short: Ramen at 1 avenue du Swing has been closed since 20 September 2026, permanently. Its Ville Haute restaurant on Place Guillaume II is still open.

I have a photo of that door from when it was still trading. The white script sign, “Snack-bar traditionnel chinois” in smaller letters underneath, and the hours stuck to the glass: lunch and dinner on weekdays, Saturdays right through until ten, Sundays closed.

The one thing that has not caught up is the internet. Four weeks on, the restaurant’s Belval ordering page is still online. I checked it again this afternoon. It still gives the avenue du Swing address, still says open Monday to Sunday from 11:00 to 22:00, and still has a form to book a table. Please don’t book through it. There is no restaurant at the other end any more.

If it was your lunch spot, you don’t have to leave Belval for a bowl of noodles. Xanh and Moien Vietnam both have noodles and dumplings on the menu. And if it is Ramen itself you miss, the notice is clear that the Ville Haute restaurant stays open and would be glad to see you.

Closures are the news I most want to get right, because a wrong one sends someone to a locked door. The Ramen page now says closed instead of printing hours nobody can use. If you see something change in Belval, a new sign, a shutter that stays down, a note taped to a door, tell me and I will check it.
