Devred, Leonidas and Salsa Jeans are coming to Belval Plaza

Three new shops are on their way to Belval Plaza. Devred and Leonidas open in October, which the centre announced on its own Instagram on 18 September. Salsa Jeans has its hoarding up in Belval Plaza I, with ouverture prochaine on it and no date yet.

Devred 1902, menswear

Devred is a French menswear chain, trading since 1902, and it is taking a ground floor unit in Belval Plaza II: suits, shirts, jackets and trousers, the smarter end of what the centre currently offers a man. Its three Luxembourg shops are all in the capital, at Kirchberg, on the Grand Rue and on the avenue de la Gare, so Belval will be the first in the south. The Plaza is billing it as a new menswear address, and for a campus that sends a cohort into first interviews every summer, that is a practical gap to have closed.

Leonidas, chocolates

Leonidas is the Belgian chocolatier, sold loose by weight and made up into a ballotin at the counter. The timing is the part worth noticing. A chocolate shop opening in October is opening for the gift season: Saint Nicolas on 6 December, then Christmas. It will not be the first Leonidas in Esch, though. There is already a counter inside the Cactus at Lallange, and that one opens on Sunday mornings, when the Plaza is shut.

Salsa Jeans, denim

Salsa Jeans is a Portuguese denim brand, jeans first and everything else built around them. Belval will be its fourth Luxembourg shop, after Cloche d’Or, Ettelbruck and the Opkorn gallery in Differdange. No opening date has been announced. I will add it when there is one.

Each of the three has its own page, which I will update with the exact date and the hours as they open. Parking at the Plaza stays as it is: the first hour free, two hours with a purchase.
