Delhaize Belval closes for three weeks from 5 August

Belval’s supermarket is getting a makeover.

Delhaize Belval closes at five o’clock on Wednesday 5 August for a complete refit, and comes back on Thursday 27 August at half past seven in the morning. Three weeks, and then a brand new shop.

Worth putting in your calendar if you live here, because for most of August the daily loaf will need to come from somewhere else.

Where to shop in the meantime

ALDI Belval, on Porte de France is a few minutes away and open right through. Monday to Thursday until seven, Friday until eight, Saturday until seven, and Sunday mornings.

Beyond that, Esch centre is ten minutes on the bus or the train, and both are free. There are worse ways to spend an August morning than a trip into town for the shopping.

Delhaize say they cannot wait to show everyone the new shop. Three weeks is not very long, and the last few days of August will be a good week to be nosy.
